“Micro/Macro” by Sarah Nicholson and Amy Ritchie, a joint exhibition at Dot Art Gallery, Liverpool.
Sarah Nicholson creates views of densely packed solar farms taken from space using pen, ink and charcoal. Sourced from Google Earth, with the shape of the earth, with the shape of the land and environment effecting the patterns formed the images create ebb and flow into organic abstractions.
Moving between micro and macro what started as a concept has become a process of time = space filled with ink as a knitted or woven line.
Nicholson’s interest in industry and in the environment are brought together in this new body of works on paper ranging from A3 mounted and framed to A0 which is to be hung directly to the wall.
